Anxiety

Anxiety is defined as an intense feeling of unease, worry, and fear. We all have anxiety from time to time. It is common to feel anxiety when faced with a challenging situation. A job interview, getting married, the arrival of a new baby, having a spouse diagnosed with a serious illness, relocating, break up, examination fear are situations where anxiety is common.

For most of us, the anxiety we feel is just temporary. Once we adjust to the new situation or the circumstances that caused the anxiety are removed, we no longer feel anxious. However, for some the feelings of anxiety don't go away, even if you remove the stressors. The constant feelings of worry and unease can be overwhelming and interfere with the ability to function in everyday life. When this happens, it is a sign of an anxiety disorder.

Signs & Symptoms of Anxiety :

Intense feelings of worry, unease, and fear ?
Avoiding certain situations or activities because they make you feel anxious.
Trouble concentrating.
Feeling that things have to be done in a specific way or else something bad is going to happen.
Fears about irrational things or situations .
Chest pains or heart palpitations.
Trouble breathing.
Frequent headaches.
Irritability.
Trouble sleeping.
Fatigue.
Muscle tension .
Sweating.

Causes

Though there are many factors contributing to anxiety but The main cause of anxiety is excessive worry & continuous negative thinking. You may feel something terrible is going to happen that you know is not rational but cannot turn these intrusive thoughts off. Anxiety may be rooted in the past in some cases and it is necessary to help uncover the cause to decrease your anxiety. Often we are unable to see the patterns in our lives that are apparent to others, especially professionals with experience in this area.
